Since Presley didn't have an official birthday party, I asked her preschool teacher if I could provide lunch one day. Mimi, Landon & I showed up at school with a yummy pizza lunch for all of Presley's friends. The whole class sang "Happy Birthday" and a few kids were even sweet enough to bring Presley a gift. After an entire week of trips, presents and parties, I think we are officially done celebrating Presley's 3rd Birthday!!

snow much fun
For Presley's 2nd birthday we had 54 people and 4 ponies at our house. This year I convinced Jon, and our families, to try something a little different. One of Jon's co-workers owns a condo in Durango, Colorado so I proposed a family trip for some winter fun. Jon's parents and my parents made the drive to Albuquerque and then we loaded up two cars and made the 4 hour trip to Durango. It was absolutely beautiful! It didn't snow while we were there but there was already lots of snow on the ground as you can see from the pictures below. The condo was fabulous and we enjoyed 4 days of playing in the snow, eating great food, drinking hot chocolate and celebrating a special day in the life of our little girl. Ironically, Presley enjoyed the snow just about as much as she enjoyed the ponies at her party last year...which was not very much!

a lovely day
Yes, we celebrate the "Hallmark holiday" (and have a darn good time doing it!). I wanted to make something homemade for Presley to give to her friends but lost my creativity at the last minute. I still managed to come up with something a little crafty. Jon spoiled me with 2 dozen roses and the most amazing truffles I have ever eaten. We celebrated with a family dinner at home and are still trying to get through all the candy and stickers Presley came home with from school.

no excuses
I have been trying to come up with a good excuse as to why it's been so long since my last post. The only thing I can come up with is...LIFE! We did a whole lot of nothing that some how made January fly by. The weather has been very mild so we've had a lot of outdoor time. We've joined a new music class, tried lots of new crafts, and taken trips to the zoo and aquarium. I am secretly hoping that we won't see any snow or colder weather in February or March, because being able to play outside takes a lot of pressure off of mama to entertain.
Jon and I got to go to a Lobos basketball game while the kids stayed at home with a sitter.
PJ day at school. A win-win!!
My first attempt at woopie pies.
Borrowing sister's shades.
All aboard the zoo train.

happy half
Landon is 6 months old! No longer a baby but a roller, real food eater, sitter, and the happiest little boy I know! He loves solid food and eating in the high chair like a big boy. We get 10 hours of sleep out of him at night and a few hours during the day too. He smiles, laughs and bring so much joy to our family.

facematch
I am sure every mother at some point performs a little child comparison. I thought about mixing these up and quizzing everyone, but seeing as it took me almost an hour to get it like this, I abandoned the idea. I am not sure the ages are right on, but here's a little Presley vs Landon for you to enjoy.
