boot scootin' boogie

Presley went to her first concert last night. Jon and I had tickets to see Darius Rucker (the guy from Hootie and the Blowfish), Dierks Bentley and Brad Paisley. We were on the 6th row and had a great time. We were seated right next to one of the runway stages and I managed to slap some skin with both Darius and Dierks. Concerts used to be a big part of our lives so it was a treat to sneak in one more before 2 become 3. It was definitely a late night for a Sunday but totally worth it. I didn't lug my camera along but Jon took plenty of pictures with his phone so hopefully we can get those up soon.

35 weeks and counting

We saw Dr. Casanova this afternoon and all looks great. We have started our weekly appointments which means the end is near. It seems like just yesterday we were beginning this amazing journey.

i scream, rather cry, for ice cream

So I had my first legitimate pregnancy craving last week - McDonald's plain vanilla ice cream. It hit me about 3:00, and for a while I managed to push it to the back of my mind even though there is a McDonald's right across the street from the mall. After about 30 minutes of snuffing the craving, I could stand it no more. I gathered a list of other items folks in the office wanted and set out on a mission to satisfy my craving. As I was waiting in the drive thru with my window down ready to shout out my order and begin sucking down some ice cream, I overheard the lady in front of me order a McFlurry and then there seemed to be a lot of extra dialog between her and the crackling voice from the box. Fear began to rise in my stomach and as it became my turn to order. I quickly asked if they were out of ice cream. Indeed, they were out of ice cream. Okay, not a big deal, it's America and there's a McDonald's on every corner so I proceeded happily to another one just a few miles away. At this said location, there was a sign on the ordering station asking customers to pull up and place their order at the first window. I pulled up to the window and placed an order for the folks in the office being sure to save my ice cream order for the very end. Ahhh, no ice cream again! The sweet guy explained that several locations were upgrading their ice cream machines and it had not gone as smoothly as expected, hence the lack of ice cream all over town. I couldn't even get mad because sadness trumped anger in this situation. I headed back to work feeling completely defeated.
Even though I was over it by the next day, a lady from my office made a point to call the location across the street from the mall and inquire as to their ice cream availability. They were still working on the new machine but took her name and number and promised to call when they were up and running. By the time I left for the afternoon, the call had not come in.
Saturday was a day of victory for baby Wyatt and I. I had pretty much forgotten about my ravenous craving by this point but ventured out with Uncle Steve to the McDonald's near our house. He wanted some oj so we started with that request tacking on the ice cream at the end again. $3.02 is your total. Please drive thru came back over the speaker and my eyes grew extremely large. It was about to happen. I was going to finally get my ice cream. It was well worth the wait.

After the three-day ice cream wait, I upgraded my craving to a hot fudge sundae :)
Here's hoping I have better luck with any future cravings...

(Sorry for the wordiest entry about ice cream EVER!)

a double post

I usually have to wait until I get home to load pictures on the blog because my work computer blocks them but today I seem to be lucky and have free posting privileges. I thought I would take advantage and share some recent pictures that may or may not allow you a good glimpse at my growing belly.

Sarah and I are due a week apart. She is having a little girl too!

The 3 Pregos
Alisa due January 15 with her second boy.
Me due February 25.
Sarah's little girl is due March 9.
We were good friends in high school and just look at us now!

two happy campers

We have a head down baby and a mama who only put on less than 2 pounds even with the massive amount of white cheesedip consumption during her trip to Little Rock last week. This makes for two happy Wyatt girls.
Dr. Phillips stood in for Dr. Casanova this morning and said everything is still looking great. We talked about what to do and expect over the next few weeks. I can't believe we only have 7 weeks left. I have truly enjoyed my pregnancy but am ready to meet our little girl.

showered with blessings

There aren't really words to describe the baby shower I had in Little Rock this past Saturday. I was blown away by how many people showed up and all of the fabulous stuff we received. After the 3-hour event, I was exhausted. Jon and I are truly blessed to have so many wonderful folks that care about us.

We flew to Little Rock so there was no way any of our loot could come back with us so my Uncle Steve is loading up his explorer and driving down to Lubbock this weekend. I can't wait to go through everything all over again as we eagerly await the arrival of our baby girl.

29 years later

Here's something fun...

This is my mom about a month before I was born.

This is me at 7 months.
(The boys don't seem as excited this go-round.)

Both photos were taken on the infamous green couch at my grandma's house.
