let's give 'em something to talk about

Here is a quick video of Presley "talking". I noticed her making lots of new sounds last week and she hasn't stopped since.

kodak smiles

Last time Mimi was here she had a lot of trouble catching Presley's smile on camera. Apparently P knows when the "evil device" comes out and puts on a frown super quick. Here are a couple of smiles we have captured.

playing catch up

Sorry it's been so long since my last post. I figured a lot of folks would be playing hookie during the summer, allowing me a little time between posts. My mom was quick to inform me that few people take a month off and my posts would definitely have to be made a little closer together. Here are a few updates with more to come.

The new carseat toy from Mimi. Presley is not the biggest fan of riding in the car.
Lots to look at here.

Just the typical look after waking up from a nap.
Looks a lot like the first picture Mimi took of her in the NICU incubator.

This might look like rain but it's a Lubbock dust storm.
You could taste the dust in the air and then it began to rain MUD. Yummm!

wyatt girls cubed

We drove to Fort Worth this weekend to visit with Jon's brother and his family as well as Jon's parents. Being stuck in her carseat is not Presley's favorite thing to do so I spent most of the trip in the back seat trying to keep her entertained. With two stops, it took us about 5 1/2 hours. After that amount of time in the car, P was in a funky mood and didn't make a good first impression but was such a happy baby on Saturday. It was great to watch her meet her Aunt and Uncle and twin cousins and even better than Jon's parents stepped in as baby sitters at night allowing the big kids to go out.

missing Mimi already

My mom was here for the Memorial Day weekend and what a great time we had. Shopping, sewing, baking, and much, much more. I don't think Presley was put down once. Here are just a few of the hundreds of pictures that were taken.

Chillin' on the couch watching TV.

Mom had a toy for Winston in her suitcase and he found it on his own and then proceeded to destroy it.

Out of all the pictures mom took, this was the only one she caught with Presley smiling.

Chubby and bug eyed.

This was one of the best outfits my mom found for her. It's a onesie with a little skirt that goes over it.

Mom was very successful giving Presley a bottle.

A fist for dessert as usual.

Look! It's my knee.

cry, cry, baby

Sorry for the lack of posts...we haven't been up to much lately. Yesterday, was a slightly torturous day. Jon was on call and Presley was in a rotten mood most of the day. She did a whole lot of crying and my patience was truly tested. I thought I might have eaten something that was upsetting her but a call to the lactation consultant this morning squashed my theory. The L.C. said it was highly unlikely that I ate something that made her that upset. She actually thought Presley might be teething since she likes to rub her fist along her lower gums. We will try some Orajel and see if that stops the fussiness. I am thinking she still gets upset with gas and burps but we'll look into the teeth issue.

Any fellow mom advice on the evening tantrum?

This is a picture of Presley sleeping in her crib for the first time. I got her to take her morning nap in it. Such a big girl.
She is a master at getting out of her swaddle now.

by the numbers

Today Presley had the privilege of getting her first round of vaccinations. She was a trooper and did great. She didn't mind the injections but really didn't care for the rotavirus oral vaccine. She isn't very fond of having things put into her mouth unless it's some type of food.
