nount mebo

We spent the Labor Day weekend camping on Mt. Nebo with my parents. The kids have been looking forward to this for a long time. The predicted weather was forecasted to be rainy but not a single drop fell while we were there. We spent the weekend hiking, swimming, playing in the dirt, building campfires, eating s'mores and making countless memories.

At a presentation by the ranger about bugs complete with pre-packaged edible creatures.

Neither Presley nor Landon took the ranger up on his offer of mealworms or crickets.

 But Poppie did!

We told the kids that the local nuclear plant was actually a cloud maker.

off to kindergarten

Presley started Kindergarten on Monday. I wasn't too stressed about it since she had attended all-day Pre-K last year. She is now at Roberts Elementary and LOVES it! It's a HUGE school with 8 kindergarten classes. Her teacher, Mrs. Glover, is great and we are looking forward to a wonderful year.

* She's already taken her first trip to the school nurse after being stung by something on the playground. Last year, we made several trips to the nurse so it looks like this year will be the same.

Her best friend from Fair Park, Julianne.
Not the same teacher but they get to play at recess together.

st. louis

We weren't up for a big family vacation this year and instead opted for a trip to St. Louis. The kids loved staying in a hotel and there was lots of fun stuff for us to do.

At the top of the Arch.

Riding the zoo train.

Still making time for afternoon naps.

At the City Museum.

Turtle Park

Drinking root beer at Fitz's.

bald headed chicken

In case you didn't get enough pictures in that last post, here are a ton more from our annual photo shoot with Mimi.

NOTE: The title of the post comes from the saying that the photographer used over and over to get the kids to smile.

bring on the crazy

I remember the year between 3 and 4 with Presley being the craziest...This is proving to be the case for our second born as well. Boy, he's lucky he's so stinkin' cute!
