mimi's in the house

Oh what a treat it is to have Mimi around. The time flew by. We shopped, sewed, and played hard. Presley loves her Mimi and I love my mama. Jon and I were able to attend all of the graduation festivities and I even got to run a 5K race that started at 10 pm. That's the kind of stuff folks get to do when they have the best babysitter in the world in town. Thanks for all of your help mom/mimi!

Trying out some sweet tea from McD's.

I am not sure she actually enjoys floating.

Big girl shoes.

Fun times with a crazy sprinkler.

Mom and Dad's night out.

Night run with a few other mamas.

a perfect 10

...is what I would rate this past weekend. It was the perfect balance of family time, my new favorite zumba class, social time with friends, and multiple hours of watching golf. Ok, that last part would apply to Jon. I have been infected with the sewing bug again and stayed up until after 1 a.m. on Friday night sewing dresses for P. We are very excited for Mimi to get here tomorrow. Poppie is at Boy Scout camp this week so of course Mimi decided to come hang with us. It's going to be such a treat having her around. We'll post a full report post visit.

Sporting one of her new dresses.

All smiles.

Eating a cupcake in her swimsuit...clean up was a breeze.

Tutu fun.

That's a lot of tulle.

hello? are you there?

Sorry for the extreme delay in posting something other than pictures. Presley's PDO has been closed for the past two weeks so I have barely had time to shower let alone blog. But we are BACK! Back in PDO and back to blogging! Summer is in full swing around our house. Presley is taking swimming lessons two nights a week and we joined the Texas Tech Leisure Pool so we could enjoy some family swim time. The Leisure Pool is this AMAZING place on the Tech campus that was totally designed with families in mind. There is lazy river, lots of shallow areas for kids to walk around in and tons on those sprayer things that shoot up into the air. We are loving it to say the least. Other than all the pool time, we are staying busy playing and exercising with StrollerFit. On July 1, Jon will officially begin his 5th, and final, year as a resident. I couldn't be more proud of him. He works so hard so that I can stay home with Presley. Even after long days of operating, he comes home and gives 100% to his girls. I don't know how he does it.

So, I am not one to blog about food. Mostly because I can't cook and nothing I ever make would be worthy of sharing with other people. This, however, deserves a little blog space.

I have made two of these sweet things this week. (Don't tell Jon because neither of them were for him.) It's just such a fun summer dessert and super easy to make. Of course I stole the recipe from a friend so here's her credit. http://mcgeegirlscafe.blogspot.com/2009/08/fruit-pizza-1-cup-butter-1-cup-powdered.html#comments

I have managed to finish 3 sewing projects this morning and am headed to squeeze in a 4th before I have to pick up Presley. I heart PDO!!

the little in the rock

Sorry for the delay in posting a report about our trip to Little Rock last week. Of all things, I forgot my camera so I had to borrow mom's for the week and then have her send me a disk of all the pictures. We had such a great time! Even though this was Presley's 3rd trip to Little Rock, this was the first time she was able to really explore the sights of the city. We ran non-stop the whole time. We visited lots of old friends, shopped at the Farmers' Market, played at Pinnacle Mountain, and were totally spoiled by family. Here is a photo review of our trip.

Having fun on Mimi and Poppie's screened-in porch.

Rockin' with Mimi.

Trying honeysuckle for the first time. Love my tongue hanging out.
