fist, it's what's for dinner

Here's a quick video I caught of Presley right after nap time. Ok, it's over a minute so it's not that quick.

zzzzz

Presley slept from 10 pm to 4:30 am...could we be getting close to sleeping through the night?!?
This is not a representation of the above mentioned sleeping arrangements, this is simply nap time with mommy.

a whole lot of nothing

Sorry for the lack of posts, there's not much going on with us these days. Presley is doing great. We put her to bed before 10 pm and she wakes me up around 3 am and then again at 7 am for feedings. We finally have her on an afternoon nap schedule which guarantees me at least 2 hours to myself a day. She has been REALLY fussy in the early pm, starting around 5:30, so please send suggestions as to how to eat dinner with a screaming baby.

post clarification

I have had a few questions about the last post with the video so here's some play-by-play. Jon and I were messing around on the computer while Presley chilled on the couch. I heard this noise and when I went to investigate, I found P sucking on the silky corner of her blanket. She was perfectly content sucking away until she heard my voice. It's a little cheesy but I thought it was pretty entertaining and wanted to share. Sorry the video is horizontal and kind of dark.

pack and play

Jon is on vacation this week, so we headed up to Amarillo for the night to see what it was like to travel with the little one. We made a stop at Palo Duro Canyon to see the sights. It was too windy for Presley, but I could totally tell she was enjoying it!

She is a great traveler until her tummy starts to growl, and then it's nothing but screams and crocodile tears.

do the bunny hop

Here are some pictures of Miss Presley in her first Easter dress. We made it through church with hardly any drama and then enjoyed a great lunch with friends. Jon and I should appreciate the fact that this is the only Easter that we won't have to play the Easter bunny. Next year it's baskets, eggs and candy...actually, that sounds pretty fun!

rub-a-dub-dub

Since Presley's cord came off yesterday, the next logical thing to do was to torture her with a real bath. As expected, she didn't enjoy the adventure.

cordless at last

Normally, I wouldn't be eager to blog about a body part falling off but this is a pretty big deal for Miss Presley. Finally, after almost 5 weeks, the cord stump has fallen OFF. I knew the cord was going to be an issue for me. I found it pretty gross and timidly cleaned it with alcohol every time I changed her diaper. Jon called me out on my delicate technique and finally convinced me to get down and dirty with the cotton swab. I am slightly ashamed that it took almost 5 weeks but the dead is done and we can now share lots of full frontal naked pictures of our cordless daughter.

the adventures of a one month old

The only thing on her playmat she was interested in was the mirror.
Presley, you're so vain.

Tummy time with daddy.

At the community Easter egg hunt.
Don't worry, I only picked up two eggs for her so no children were denied their loot.
Also, I am not sporting new bangs, that's just the work of the west Texas winds.

mine or yours

Everyone seems to agree that Presley looks a lot like Jon. Here is a baby picture of each of us for those yet undecided.

let the little children come to me

In preparation for Easter, we took Presley to church this morning for a "dry run". We set up shop on the back row and had our escape plan down but she did great. She seemed to really enjoy the musical elements of the service but became bored about 5 minutes into the sermon and let out a little peep only to be scooped up by Jon and quieted before she could let out another sound. I am just glad she did do well because one would hate to waste the perfectly adorable Easter dress we have ready for next week.
