girls just wanna have fun

It's a rare occasion that I get to spend one-on-one time with Presley so it was time for our first girls night out! Jon had to attend a football game so mom offered to keep Landon. I picked up Pres from school and we hit the town. We ventured to the mall and strolled for a bit before coming across a Build-a-Bear. I had heard stories about this place being over-the-top expensive so I was about to drag Pres right on by when noticed lots of sale signs and discovered that lots of animals were only $10. In we went! Pres picked out a simple, white bear and a few outfits. Then it was time to bring her bear to life. If you've never done this before, it's a really cool process. The staff do the actual stuffing using the machine but the kids get to pick how much stuffing they want (a hard bear, a soft bear or something in between) and then they pick out a heart for the bear and place it inside. Then they get to give it a "bath", get it dressed, name it and get a birth certificate. I am not sure Presley understood everything but she definitely understands the end result - a brand new bear to take care of. After building our bear, it was downstairs for pizza and people watching. I picked up a movie for us to watch but couldn't get the DVD player to work so we opted for Yo Gabba Gabba! in our pjs and a late bedtime. Hopefully Pres and I can find time like this together more often.

my fair lady

It's fair time in Arkansas. I have been so excited about taking Presley to the fair this year. I just knew she would love all the lights, rides, food and animals. She was not disappointed. My mom and dad joined us as we ventured out to the fairgrounds last Tuesday afternoon. We bought Presley a wristband for unlimited rides which allowed her to ride anything and everything. She had been talking about the Dumbo ride non-stop so of course that was our first selection. After a few minutes on the ride, she started to freak out a little and wanted off. All I could think of was what a waste it was to buy that wristband! She conquered her fears and spent the rest of our trip hopping from ride to ride. There were definitely some priceless faces made as she ventured down the magic carpet slide. Poor Landon spent most of the adventure in the stroller. Next year, buddy! He did enjoy the food, the monkey show and torturing the goats at the petting zoo.

Finally got my fried cheese on a stick!

the great pumpkin patch

Most days are still 80 degrees so it definitely doesn't feel like fall around here. Even with warmer temps, we wanted to do some fall activities which means it was time for a trip out to the pumpkin patch. We asked some friends to join us and had a great morning running around the open fields, taking a hay ride, and picking pumpkins.

How Landon picks a pumpkin...

Make your selection,

pick it up,

then THROW IT!

Our new friends, Gavin & Griffin.

home sweet home

I finally managed to have the house picked up enough to snap some pictures, well, a lot of pictures. It was really hard picking and choosing what to take pictures of. Here goes the grand tour of our new casa...and pardon our Halloween decorations!
