Presley's First Christmas

We had such a great time celebrating Christmas through the eyes of a 10 month old. We now have a living room that resembles a toy store, and I am sure it's only going to get worse in the years to come.

Santa came early after Daddy went to Target and found something Presley just had to have.

Walking around the Christmas tree, have a happy holiday.

We celebrated Christmas at our house on Tuesday night since we were heading to Little Rock on Wednesday.

It took her a while to get the whole wrapping paper thing.

In the mouth...

Checking out the tent. Where are we going to put this thing?!?

Hammer time

Remember these things from your pediatrician's office?

Christmas morning at Mimi and Poppie's.

Digging through her box of toys. Mimi was so smart and opened everything the night before so we didn't have to spend 20 minutes trying to get into the super strong packaging that secures toys. That stuff is impenetrable!

After a much needed morning nap, we were ready for
Christmas at the Wyatts.

These were some Mardi Gras beads that belong to Ava and Macy that Presley couldn't get enough of.

Stocking stuffers

The Wyatt girls all in one place.

The activity table from Grammy and PawPaw. How are we going to get this home on the plane?!?

The Toy Shoppe

It's only going to get more fun in the years to come.
Merry Christmas 2009!

santa baby

Sorry for overly blogging about Santa but I am doing my best to record all the special moments of Presley's first Christmas. I just wanted to take a minute and compare Presley's first visit with Santa to mine.

santa #2

We went to a Christmas party for our stroller class and Santa made an appearance. I expected Presley to totally freak out like she did for Santa #1 at the mall. Apparently, she can handle the Santa with the synthetic white beard vs. the one with the real thing. This Santa had a present for her which might have also been a reason she liked him better.

dishing up some fun

While my folks were here for Thanksgiving, we took Presley to a pottery shop to make a cookie plate for Santa. Presley wasn't really feeling the whole painted hand thing but we ended up with a cute result.

a little bit of this, a little bit of that

I am sure you have heard the saying, "If you don't like the weather today, stick around, it will be different tomorrow." Here's how that statement would read if you were talking about the weather in Lubbock today. "If you don't like the weather right now, stick around 2 hours and it will be totally different."

7:00 am - We awoke to icy roads and temps in the teens. Schools were delayed 2 hours and the weatherman cautioned folks to take it slow.
1:30 pm - While out doing some Christmas shopping, Presley and I found ourselves stuck in a monsoon-type pour down that lasted about 30 minutes.
3:00 pm - Temps in the high 50's, 60 mph wind gusts and a brown sky with almost zero visibility.

Wonder what we can expect for the remaining 7 hours of the day? Snow? Scorching temps?

Presley and Santa

I will see if my mom can find my first picture with Santa because it looks pretty much the same.

boinnnnnng

Here is one of Presley's favorite things to do these days. So far there are 3 that she has found throughout the house. I have been told that as she gets older the stopper on the end becomes more interesting than the spring so I will be sure to remove those in the future.

giving thanks

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving. My parents came to Lubbock via airplane, my dad's first trip in the air in over 10 years! We had such a great time eating and playing and pampering Mommy. I was on a mission to treat myself this holiday so I saw New Moon, got a haircut, a pedicure and a massage. I feel rested and ready to tackle December. This year I am most thankful for Mimi and Poppie, a.k.a. the best babysitters on earth.

We are a pro at eating Cheerios now.

Trying on a dress for our Christmas pictures.
I bought 6 in all because I couldn't make up my mind.

Playing with a new toy Mimi brought her.

Beating on the table.

Helping with Thanksgiving lunch.

Turn that frown upside down.

Another favorite toy...the remote.

Poppie was so graceful with his feeding skills.

From now on, we are only going to restaurants with paper table covers.
She was great the entire meal.

Helping make the bed.

Showing off her top teeth.

dallas part two

Boxes make the best toys of course.

Her first cheeseburger...not really!

Asleep in Sam Moon. She doesn't know what she's missing.

Eating bread and bananas at the Cheesecake Factory.

A handfull of mommy's cool whip. Bad girl!

Asleep at IKEA. Whose child is this?!?

Playing in the pool at the hotel.

Look at that smile.

Checking things out at breakfast.

Making faces at Mimi.

With the Golden Cowboy at Gaylord Texan.

The decorations weren't quite up yet but it was still pretty. (Gaylord Texan)

Time to start tipping extra.

Mimi and Presley.

I have a picture in this same spot from 2008 when I was pregnant with P. How time flies.

Giving mama her birthday kiss...muahhh!

Hanging out in the cage, I mean pack n' play.

Happy 30th Emily!
