missing Mimi already

My mom was here for the Memorial Day weekend and what a great time we had. Shopping, sewing, baking, and much, much more. I don't think Presley was put down once. Here are just a few of the hundreds of pictures that were taken.

Chillin' on the couch watching TV.

Mom had a toy for Winston in her suitcase and he found it on his own and then proceeded to destroy it.

Out of all the pictures mom took, this was the only one she caught with Presley smiling.

Chubby and bug eyed.

This was one of the best outfits my mom found for her. It's a onesie with a little skirt that goes over it.

Mom was very successful giving Presley a bottle.

A fist for dessert as usual.

Look! It's my knee.

cry, cry, baby

Sorry for the lack of posts...we haven't been up to much lately. Yesterday, was a slightly torturous day. Jon was on call and Presley was in a rotten mood most of the day. She did a whole lot of crying and my patience was truly tested. I thought I might have eaten something that was upsetting her but a call to the lactation consultant this morning squashed my theory. The L.C. said it was highly unlikely that I ate something that made her that upset. She actually thought Presley might be teething since she likes to rub her fist along her lower gums. We will try some Orajel and see if that stops the fussiness. I am thinking she still gets upset with gas and burps but we'll look into the teeth issue.

Any fellow mom advice on the evening tantrum?

This is a picture of Presley sleeping in her crib for the first time. I got her to take her morning nap in it. Such a big girl.
She is a master at getting out of her swaddle now.

by the numbers

Today Presley had the privilege of getting her first round of vaccinations. She was a trooper and did great. She didn't mind the injections but really didn't care for the rotavirus oral vaccine. She isn't very fond of having things put into her mouth unless it's some type of food.

#1 Mama's Day

What a great first Mother's Day we had. Jon was on call on Saturday and didn't know what time he would be home on Sunday so he surprised me with breakfast on Friday morning. Homemade chocolate chip pancakes! YUMMM! Jon ended up getting home really early on Sunday morning so we celebrated Mother's Day together in our pj's on the couch. Presley was in a great mood all day which made my day even better.

growing and going

Presley is 2 months old today. I can't believe how fast the time has flown by. Here are a couple of new things our big girl is doing these days.

Wiping off her spit up all by herself.

Sitting up in her bumbo.

Taking baths in the real baby tub.

We don't have a picture of this milestone, but yesterday Presley took a bottle from Jon! We have tried several times before but haven't had any luck. Jon suggested switching bottles and BAM! she ate down about 2 ounces without any hesitation. I feel freedom within my reach.

ragin' cajun

One of the Ortho residents is from Louisiana, so he treated us land-locked Lubbockites to 200 pounds of fresh crawfish on Friday night. Yummm! Presley celebrated the night by sleeping between several crying fits. I had a great video but filmed it vertically and can't figure out how to change the orientation so you can watch it without having to have your head cocked to the side.
