a thousand words

While Mimi was visiting for Presley's birthday, we took some time to get some real pictures of the kids. This was Landon's first time in front of the camera. The lady running his session had a very difficult time getting him to smile. Such a serious young man. When it was time to take some pictures with sister, the smiles definitely came a little easier.

i like it, i lubbock

Albuquerque was a host location for the first round of the NCAA tournament. Jon was going to be pretty wrapped up in the practices and games, so the kids and I took off for our first trip back to Lubbock. We had a sweet deal set up to stay at the furnished home of some friends who are temporary living in Ft. Worth. We had all the comforts of home which made our stay so much more enjoyable. Traveling with the kids solo went well and we enjoyed 5 days with old friends in a place that will always be dear to my heart. The weather was beautiful and allowed for tons of outdoor time.

party on

Since Presley didn't have an official birthday party, I asked her preschool teacher if I could provide lunch one day. Mimi, Landon & I showed up at school with a yummy pizza lunch for all of Presley's friends. The whole class sang "Happy Birthday" and a few kids were even sweet enough to bring Presley a gift. After an entire week of trips, presents and parties, I think we are officially done celebrating Presley's 3rd Birthday!!

snow much fun

For Presley's 2nd birthday we had 54 people and 4 ponies at our house. This year I convinced Jon, and our families, to try something a little different. One of Jon's co-workers owns a condo in Durango, Colorado so I proposed a family trip for some winter fun. Jon's parents and my parents made the drive to Albuquerque and then we loaded up two cars and made the 4 hour trip to Durango. It was absolutely beautiful! It didn't snow while we were there but there was already lots of snow on the ground as you can see from the pictures below. The condo was fabulous and we enjoyed 4 days of playing in the snow, eating great food, drinking hot chocolate and celebrating a special day in the life of our little girl. Ironically, Presley enjoyed the snow just about as much as she enjoyed the ponies at her party last year...which was not very much!
