east on I-40

It's been over 10 years since Jon and I have ventured EAST on I-40. About a month ago Jon said we take a short fall trip and suggested Nashville as a destination. Music City! I was beyond excited. Jon and I spent a large majority of our dating years attending various concerts all over the place. We started searching for some potential entertainment and booked our weekend around two events that included musicians/bands that we would enjoy seeing. The grandparents tag-teamed and the kids and we snuck away for 4 fun-filled days. It was just what the doctor ordered!

Our outdoor concert.
We were on our feet, shoulder-to-shoulder in a crowd for about 5 hours.

first field trip

Presley's class got to take their first school field trip last week. The entire school loaded up on official school busses for a trip to the pumpkin patch. I managed to escape the bus ride out to the patch, instead opting to meet the group at their destination. Mrs. Ross assured me that no one has yet to puke on this outing in all the years they've been taking it, but I just couldn't take the chance! The kids had a blast!! I am sure all ten fingers and toes of the parents were crossed when the weather man had predicted a 100% chance of rain. Have you ever told a 4 year old about a special trip to the pumpkin patch (let alone 180 of them) and had to call if off at the last minute? The rain held off and it turned out to be a perfect morning.

At the movies with Mimi & Poppie...it was Landon's first!

Presley's drawing of herself and Landon.

Why lay on the couch when the floor looks this comfortable?

Presley likes to write my name too.
