accessories

Oh what strides we have made from not wanting anything to do with the fru-fru of being a girl to insisting on beads in the tub, sunglasses at dinner and our winter hat in the living room. As long as it results in smiles like these, what mom could say no?

remembering

Two years ago I became a blogger and although I have been slacking on posts lately, I have really enjoyed keeping this blog and updating folks on the comings and goings of the Wyatt's of West Texas. We have entered 2011 and thus our last 6 months of life in Lubbock. When we moved here in '06, 2011 seemed like an immeasurable distance away and now here we are. Lubbock has been so great to us. I never expected to get attached to this place but we've grown as a couple and as a family and picked up lots of friends along the way. My lip puckers as I think of all the wonderful memories we've made here that have molded us into the family we are. It's such an exciting time as another portion of Jon's training comes to an end and our year in New Mexico will surely fly by. Before all that happens we have to sell our house, find a place to rent in Albuquerque, take Board exams, have another baby and move. WHAT?!?! Yes, you read that last part right. We are happy to announce that Wyatt baby #2 is on it's way. I am 14 weeks along with a due date of July 14. I know, cutting it a little close seeing as Jon starts his fellowship position August 1. The relocation to Lubbock wasn't the smoothest process so why make the move to Albuquerque without a good story? Here's to closing another chapter of our lives with a lively ending.

let's end this

I knew the clever title would suck you in...When my parents come to visit, I like to have a to-do list so no one gets too bored. I mean, who wouldn't want to be have a list of tasks to be completed on their vacation?!? Anyway, I have been wanting to make some type of bookends for Presley's room to organize all those little board books. My dad took me up on the challenge and this is the end result.

Thanks dad!
Who knew the hose storage box could double as a wood working bench!
