L is for landon

I had every intention of posting a bunch of pictures before Landon's 2 birthday last Thursday but obviously that didn't happen so here's one BIG post dedicated to our very special little boy...

 ******************************************************************
 Good morning birthday boy!

Wearing his birthday shirt to school and sporting a spiky do.

His birthday present from sister.

We decided to have a family cookout to celebrate Landon's big day. On Saturday, everyone came over to our house for lots of food and fun. The kids had a great time running around and playing, stopping only a short while to scarf down dinner.

Since our "theme" was a cookout, I decided to make these cute little cupcakes. They were so much easier than I ever expected they would be.

I saw this on Pinterest a long time ago and knew I wanted to make one for Landon. A BIG thank you to Poppie for taking the lead and making it come to life.

therapy session

I have a friend in Lubbock who owns a business called "Therapy". She sells all kinds of fabulous homemade items. A lot of times, I don't feel like sewing is anything close to "therapy". I usually find myself stressed out over whatever project I am working on, making it the complete opposite of anything therapeutic. I haven't been sewing much lately, so last week I decided it was time to use some of my summer preschool time to try out some new dresses. A while back, I loaded up on basic tank tops for Pres for the purpose of making her some simple tank dresses. There are several patterns/tutorials out there to choose from so I picked three styles and got to sewing.

This style is definitely my favorite (and of course the most time-consuming of the three to make!)

I also had some time to make something crafty for 3 of Presley's friends celebrating birthdays this week.

It's a little towel wrap to wear post swimming.

Boys just aren't as fun to sew for!

I got to update my sewing room this week after my mom
returned from a trip to IKEA.
I LOVE my new set up and obviously it's being put to good use.

baby you're a firework

We had a pretty uneventful 4th. Jon was on call and even though he managed to be home most of the day, the hospital got him right as it was time to fire up the grill and light the sparklers. That didn't stop the kids and I from chowing down on hotdogs and enjoying a beautiful evening.

I LOVE sporting red-white-and blue and had a fun time getting creative this year with shirts for the kids.

Presley got to take her trike to school and participate in a July 4th Bike Parade.
I am still not sure what that entailed but Presley was bragging that she was one of few who didn't fall off her bike.

Love this boy!
