apologies & plans

Only 2 posts in August...shame on me! I can't believe we have been living in Arkansas for a month. With regards to some things it's flown by, while others make the time lapse seem much longer. I have been putting off posting pictures of the house because it's still such a work in progress. I came to the realization that if I wait for everything to be done, it would be years before I put pictures up. I promise to take pictures this weekend and get them posted soon.

I have been searching for a way to utilize my blog more. Someone asked me if I was even going to continue to blog seeing as we now live less than 10 minutes from our families. I think I have come up with a plan...I am addicted to Pinterest. I repin things all the time but never manage to motivate myself to do any of the recipes, craft projects, etc. So here's my plan for September...30 Days of Pins...I am going to pick out something that I have pinned each day and actually do it. I am going to follow the original instructions (giving credit where credit is due of course), share my thoughts on how it turned out, and include some info about how much it cost me to complete the task (Jon is going to freak about this part!). Please feel free to comment and let me know if you've tried the pin for yourself or have any other info that would contribute to the post. 30 days of follow through as well as blog posts has me a little nervous but one never comes to know their true strength without being challenged (a little dramatic for the topic but whatever). I hope this task produces some cool things as well as a renewed since of pride in my blog. And I hope you enjoy it too!

saved by the bell

I have some major catching up to do about our move and what we've been doing these last several weeks, but I wanted to go ahead and do our back-to-school post. I started looking for a preschool for the kids back in the spring and already found waiting lists all over town. I had my mom take a tour of Second Presbyterian Preschool and she gave it a thumbs up. Both kids had spots so I jumped on it. We had open house last week and Presley and Landon both have several wonderful teachers. Presley will be going on MWF and Landon goes on MW. The first day of school was yesterday. The school Presley went to in Albuquerque started at 9:30 so I never really felt rushed to get stuff together and out of the house. School now starts at 8:30 and I have TWO kiddos to organize so I definitely have to be on my A game. They both had a great first day. Neither of them took a nap but hopefully that will come. This is the first time since Landon was born that we have spent any kind of time apart so I was a little anxious about this separation. The teacher told me he was fabulous and one of the most chill kids in the class (I knew he would do great). I still have a lot to do around the house so I appreciated the kid-free hours to get some stuff done. We are all looking forward to a great year at Second Presbyterian Preschool!

Picking out our clothes the night before.

Playing in Landon's classroom during open house.

 All new toys!

 First day!

There are 3 Landon's in the same class!

He never wears shoes so they were a little distracting.

Still got a grip on the shoes.

landon's first year

Since I didn't throw Landon a big birthday bash, I wanted to do something unique to mark the occasion. I asked a friend of mine who is uber talented to design a card celebrating Landon's first year. Here is what she created...

A shout out to the creator...
