giving thanks

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving. My parents came to Lubbock via airplane, my dad's first trip in the air in over 10 years! We had such a great time eating and playing and pampering Mommy. I was on a mission to treat myself this holiday so I saw New Moon, got a haircut, a pedicure and a massage. I feel rested and ready to tackle December. This year I am most thankful for Mimi and Poppie, a.k.a. the best babysitters on earth.

We are a pro at eating Cheerios now.

Trying on a dress for our Christmas pictures.
I bought 6 in all because I couldn't make up my mind.

Playing with a new toy Mimi brought her.

Beating on the table.

Helping with Thanksgiving lunch.

Turn that frown upside down.

Another favorite toy...the remote.

Poppie was so graceful with his feeding skills.

From now on, we are only going to restaurants with paper table covers.
She was great the entire meal.

Helping make the bed.

Showing off her top teeth.

Asleep in Sam Moon. She doesn't know what she's missing.

Eating bread and bananas at the Cheesecake Factory.

A handfull of mommy's cool whip. Bad girl!

Asleep at IKEA. Whose child is this?!?

Playing in the pool at the hotel.

Look at that smile.

Checking things out at breakfast.

Making faces at Mimi.

With the Golden Cowboy at Gaylord Texan.

The decorations weren't quite up yet but it was still pretty. (Gaylord Texan)

Time to start tipping extra.

Mimi and Presley.

I have a picture in this same spot from 2008 when I was pregnant with P. How time flies.

Giving mama her birthday kiss...muahhh!

Hanging out in the cage, I mean pack n' play.

Happy 30th Emily!

dallas part one

Mimi, Presley and I had a great time in Dallas on our annual girl's trip. We had to make a few adjustments with an 8 month old in tow, but I am not sure either of our pocketbooks would reflect that. There were frequent stops for feedings and lots of carseat naps but we still came home with full suitcases. As usual, Mimi had to lug stuff back to Little Rock that I didn't have room for. She and Dad will be down for Thanksgiving but unlike in years past, they are flying rather than driving so she will have to get creative about how to get me the IKEA play tent I sent her home with. There was also the occasion of my 30th birthday while we were playing. It was a great day and now it's on to living my next 30 years. Here are a few pictures with lots more to come as Mimi sends what's on her camera.

On our way to Dallas we had our own row which was super nice.

Checking out the clouds.

Crashed with only about 5 minutes left in the flight.

Having a little dinner in the hotel.

sizing things up

It's a little weird to blog about things like toilet paper, but I thought I would go ahead and put it out there. A while back, Jon mentioned something about certain products seeming smaller. I hadn't really noticed but after opening a new package of toilet paper, I had proof for myself. Both of these are Quilted Northern purchased from Sams. Have you noticed this happening with any other products?

down, set, hut

Jon came up with a great Halloween costume and then turned it over to me to execute. A little rite fabric dye and some pillow stuffing and we have our very own football. She got lots of ohhh's and ahhh's. Happy 1st Halloween Presley!
