root, root, root for the home team

Presley started 5/6 year old tball and is an official member of the Burns Park Athletics team. Our schedule has been thrown a major loop with multiple practices and games each week (who's idea was this, oh yeah, mine.). We had our first game last Thursday and it was a lot of fun. There's just something about being out at the ballpark, sitting on metal bleachers, eating concession food, cheering for your team. There's just something about watching kids experiencing the trill of a first hit or catch while games go on way past their bedtimes. There's just something about dirty uniforms and mud on the floor mats of your car. There's just something about baseball. Even though I played one measly season of softball (I am not a huge fan of actually playing competitive sports), I have always love the sights and smells associated with the game. I am so happy that Presley seems to be enjoying this experience. You never know, she might be the one to follow in Jon's baseball cleatsteps.

 Go A's!

Presley and Sophie.
Sophie's mom and I have been best friends since High School.

Go #4!

We won the game!

It's hard to tell from this picture, but her nose is filthy.
How does one manage to get their nose dirty?

in and out like a lion

The usual saying that March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb definitely did not apply to our March. (I realize this is a saying about weather but I am applying it to both weather and the craziness of our lives.) Besides the celebration of our 5 year old and half marathon mentioned in the only post I managed to do in March, we had two trips, more snow days, countless meetings and the start of t-ball. Being that I am not one to go on-and-on with copy, here are the pictures...

Jon had a conference in New Orleans so I decided to tag along. It was not quite a vacation for Jon as he was up early every day to head to his lectures. Myself, on the other hand, enjoyed lazy mornings and casual walks all around town. We did get to spend our evenings together and ate lots of WONDERFUL food.

 Pajama day at school.

Our first stroller-free trip to the zoo.

My friend Tricia lives in Pittsburgh and had her second baby in February. I thought it would be fun for Presley and I to take a girls trip to see her. We spent Monday - Friday of spring break away and had a great time.

Tricia's son Riley and Presley got along great!

Jon has been wanting to eat this stuff for a while now.
He may not have been off for spring break but at least he got to eat his ravioli.

I never order class pictures from the pre-school because it's hard to say how they will turn out.
I cheated and took a picture of the teacher's copy. Sweet kids.
(Landon is on the first row, 2nd from the right.)
