snow bunny

We received a snowsuit as a shower gift. Since it NEVER snows bad in Lubbock, I decided to return it. It has snowed 3 times since Presley was born! We had a crazy weather day on Thursday with rain, freezing rain and then 3 inches of powdery snow. We are currently hibernating and waiting for the white stuff to disappear. I wanted to take Presley out in the yard but seeing as I don't own any snow resistant clothing, we made it a quick outing.

Touch it and...

eat it.

get your guns up

I have been wanting to go shoot at a local indoor range for a while now. Thanks to a little free time courtesy of MDO, I was finally able to make an appointment for a handgun class. I have had a little experience with rifles but wanted to know my way around some smaller varieties. I learned way more than I will probably ever need to know about the mechanics of guns but had a great time. I think I might have a new hobby.

you've got mail

Even with all the modern ways to communicate, I still enjoy making my daily trip to the mailbox for "snail mail". The weather was so nice today that I decided to let Presley tag along. She puttered down the sidewalk with her stroller and even managed to stay upright with the 30 mph crosswinds. Enjoy the sounds of a windy afternoon in West Texas.

picture post

This is what happens when Jon is on call and mommy is trying to make dinner.

Love that Episcopal koozie!

I bought these baskets for all of her toys but obviously she had something else in mind.

Playing at the playground. She would stop and pick up every stray piece of mulch.

Taking a trip to the mailbox.

i'm a survivor

Today was Presley's first day at Moms Day Out. We are taking her to the same church we attend thinking that being a familiar environment will make things easier. I dropped her off screaming and crying and walked away before my own tears could start. I got a call from the director a while later saying she had calmed down and was doing fine. Jon and I went and picked her up a little early and found her happily playing. I snapped a quick picture before she saw us and headed our way. I didn't do much with my first day of freedom. Somehow taking an extra long shower and enjoying the quiet time seemed enough for me. I will start my to-do list to tackle on Thursday.

Having a little breakfast before her big day.

Cheese!

More big smiles.

Ok, one more.

Picking out the same toys we have at home.
