a little west, a little south

Jon took his final week of vacation as a resident last week so we planned a few smaller trips to occupy his time. First, we headed to Albuquerque to check out the town and look for neighborhoods we liked. It was weird traveling to a place for "vacation" that would soon become our residence. We had a great time trying the local Mexican food, learning our way around the city, checking out the zoo and mapping out all the Wal-Marts and Targets. It's hard to believe this is where we will call home in just a few short months.

Hanging out in the hotel room.

Jon and Pres are standing right in front of the polar bear.

How we got in our daily naps.

Slow and steady in the beginning...

Chocolate Monster!

The end of our week included a trip down to a ranch in south Texas. We have been visiting this ranch since the beginning of residency and were sad to be making our last trip before everyone moves away. The girls are treated to all the comforts of home - some even nicer than our own homes - and the boys get to be boys. This place truly has a way of restoring your soul.

Dying Easter eggs.

Sunset.

One of the wives made bone cupcakes in honor of our bone doctor husbands.

Some ATV time.

Hugs from friends.

Doing the "ring test" on my baby bump. The ring went side-to-side meaning...a girl!
